So why are so many businesses and products ordinary?

A customer experience of a 5,6,7,8 out of ten, is ordinary. A 9 or 10 out of ten, leads to advocacy, and dare I say it depends on your business, a network effect, or virality.

Design a 9 or 10 and your customers become your marketing department. Advertising is cheaper and easier if required at all. Profitability is better. So go make yours a 9 or 10. And if you can’t, rethink what you’re doing entirely because today more so than ever, remarkable products win.
